About the Role:

As a Home Based Game Tester, you'll play pre-release and upcoming games across multiple platforms, identify technical issues, and provide comprehensive feedback to developers. Responsibilities:

  • Download and test games on PC, console, or mobile platforms as assigned.
  • Play through game campaigns, modes, and features systematically to uncover bugs and performance issues.
  • Document all findings including crash logs, frame rate drops, graphical glitches, and gameplay balance concerns.
  • Complete detailed test case reports with clear screenshots and video clips when necessary.
  • Provide constructive feedback on user experience, controls, difficulty curves, and overall game mechanics.
  • Re-test patched versions to confirm bug fixes and ensure no new issues were introduced.

Requirements:

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 2 years of gaming experience across multiple genres and platforms.
  • Access to a gaming PC, console (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo), or high-end mobile device.
  • Ability to follow detailed test plans and documentation standards precisely.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and articulate technical issues clearly.
  • Patience and persistence – some repetitive testing is required.
  • Reliable, high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps).
  • Commitment to dedicate at least 15-20 hours weekly to testing assignments.
  • Professional communication skills and responsiveness to developer feedback.

Skills & Background Needed:

You should have hands-on experience with game testing, familiarity with bug tracking software, and knowledge of common gaming issues. Experience with performance monitoring tools is a plus. A background in QA testing or software development is valuable but not required if you have strong gaming expertise.

Working Hours:

Flexible – you choose your own schedule based on game release deadlines and testing milestones.

Hours Per Week:

Flexible, with a minimum of 15-20 hours weekly depending on active testing campaigns.

Location:

Remote work online (USA preferred).

Contract Length:

No fixed term – ongoing work based on game pipeline and performance.

Rate:

$35 per hour, with potential bonuses for critical bug discoveries and comprehensive testing reports.
